Owen's surgery to patch his ear drums went well. The holes are close to the margin, so that makes the patching slightly less successful, but the doctor seems happy with things. Hopefully he won't blow them out before it heals. Now the hard part for us will be keeping his ears completely dry for the next 6 weeks. I guess baths will be with an inch of water so he can't dunk or scoop water over his head. And I'll wash and rinse his head with a washcloth. I'll have to see what works best.
I woke up at 4:15, Steve was up by 4:30. We left a little before 5. After coming back home the 3 of us took naps then we went to get Liam from my parents' house. Steve also went swimming to get the steps out of the pool. Because its weighted with 3 50 pound sandbags the only way to get them out is to get in. The water was a brisk 65 degress. Now I guess we'll probably have to go help cover the pool this weekend. Matthew came home from school. He spent last night at a friend's, otherwise we'd have had to wake them up at 4:45 to drop him off. So we are finally all home. For as simple a procedure as this was, it sure was a lot of work. Hope this is the last procedure Owen needs. We'll find out if he needs glasses this year tomorrow. But that doesn't count because he'll be awake and with me.
