Croup, Choking, & Puke

Yes, it's been another lovely day in the Sullivan house. Liam started hacking like a seal last night while sleeping. Not bad, but definitely the distintive cough I remember from Gabe and Josh growing up. It isn't too bad, but I did page the doctor on call this afternoon because Liam seemed uncharacteristically sleepy, but after a good nap he woke up and acted pretty much fine.

Matthew choked on one of those starlight red and white mints. Not really choked, I guess, more like accidentally swallowed before it had melted. He made an awful sound and said, "I CAN STILL BREATHE!" He was getting a little panicky but he really was breathing OK. But the mint really hurt on it's way down to his stomach. Crazily enough, a month or two ago Owen did the same thing with the same kind of mint, except he was actually choking, then puked it up in the toilet (sorry, TMI). Please, no one give any of my kids round hard candy.

And on to the puke part that this blog title eludes to...Liam, while resting comfortably on my lap, puked for no reason. Luckily it was well contained in the monkey blanket. After a quick bath he was better and ate a yogurt and some Kool-Aid. I guess it's excess mucus from whatever is living in his throat because he's fine now. It wasn't even near a barking cough fit. I hope tomorrow is less medically challenging!
