On Wednesdays I have been watching a friend's son. Tyler and Owen are in the same class and have Wednesdays off. I turned them into mummies for about five minutes last week. Toilet paper - good idea if your kids are statues, but not strong enough for 2 kindergarteners.
Matthew is super impressed with himself as he as recently mastered going cross-eyed without having to follow a finger in to his nose. I know, I know...my kids are talented!
We carved pumpkins yesterday and roasted the seeds. I think each year they are cut pretty much the same. Matthew has a thing for vampire pumpkins I guess.
Today Owen had his ear appointment and finally, all is well. Just continue with the Flonase and call in 2009 for an appointment in April. Yippee!!! The doctor addressed Owen's voice quality again. He basically said if his voice has reached it's max, there are injections he could have to "plump" up the vocal cords so they seal better. It usually lasts about 3 months and then would be redone. Umm, no thank you. I think a lot of his quietness is related to being shy. He definitely has the ability to be louder and I don't really want to put him through a surgery every 3 months for something I equate with being "cosmetic." His teacher and the classroom helper have both recently said he is speaking more and can be heard more easily, so Steve and I think that he should just be encouraged more to speak loudly. Owen is afraid of being too loud in school though. He doesn't want to get sent to the principal's office for yelling. What a sweetie. So, hopefully, that is that. After the ENT appointment, I took O, Tyler, and Liam (Nani came too) to the Children's Museum where we played for a few hours. Then we ate lunch at Applebee's. As we were leaving, a nice little granny in the next table praised me for how well behaved my children were. Apparently she wasn't there for the parts that included spilling and burping and trust me, there were several. And she definitely must have had cataracts to not see the pile of debris left under the table I noticed as we left. Luckily I tip well.
When we got home there was a package from my neighbor in NJ. She makes the greatest pillowcases ever! The boys each got a new one just in time for Halloween. Sometime when my camera battery isn't driving me crazy, I post a picture. Thanks, Debby!!!
Liam is recovering from a recent cold, which he has passed on to me. Thanks Liam! I appreciate it immensely.
