I had every intention of posting healing cut head pics of Liam last weekend, but, well, you know me...So anyway, as you can see it is healling nicely. I knew it was one month last week because my graceful little niece decided to do the same thing. 'Cept she got 6 stitches and no dopey drugs, just a nice burrito wrap. I am religiously (for now anyway) applying Mederma and vitamin E oil multiple times a day. Maybe this scar is in a better spot than Owen's and will heal more invisibly. Why, oh why, did Owen's have to be across the soft mushy part at the end of his nose?
School is going great for Matthew and Owen. Matthew LOVES third grade. I have heard that his teacher is fast-paced and highly structured and think that helps him out tremendously. He hardly has any homework, which is such a change since 1st grade when he had hours. Owen likes lunch and recess best. I help out in Kindergarten one morning a week and there a quite a few handfuls in there. Owen came home last week very annoyed at a nameless girl. She was sitting next to him at snack time and told him he couldn't eat his muffins. Why did he listen to her? He wanted to "kick her in the booty." I think this is the same girl that was at a mutual friend's birthday party last year and, in the midst of running and playing, bonked him on the head accidentally. It is definitely like O to hold a grudge.
Last weekend we had much rain due to Hurricane Ike. The boys must have played outside in their pajamas for at least 30 minutes. They had a lot of fun.
Since Steve has off today, we plan on camping out back in the tent tonight. Owen has scheduled the evening's events like this:
1. Have marshmallows for the fire.
2. Eat rice crispy treats, but I can only use 3 marshmallows to make them because I have to save them for the fire.
3. Eat "cop-corn" (I think a larger portion of Owen's speech issues have to do with me not correcting him because it's so darn cute).
4. Jump on the trampoline in the dark.
5. Watch Speed Racer movie on the portable DVD player in the tent.
6. Have a glow stick.
Sounds good to me. Just please sleep in past 6 tomorrow...
