Wildlife School

Liam noticed a snake in the grass tonight. It wasn't too big, maybe 18-20 inches long. Once Steve caught it I ran inside to look it up online and found some info about it here. Luckily it's not dangerous or poisonous. It's a Blue Racer.
Matthew has been finding these little tiny frogs. They are smaller than a fingernail. I think it is a young peeper, since they only get to be about an inch long by the end of summer. Probably what the blue racer has been eating for supper.
Then, just a few seconds later, we found this pretty butterfly on the flowers under our maple tree. Matthew and Owen watched it for quite long time while I was trying to find Liam, who had wandered off when I was photographing Matthew's frog. After mild panic, I finally found him digging in the woods. Then, to keep them all together, I took them to Nani's pool while Steve finished cutting the grass.
