Owen's been coughing for several days. Really tight. And gaggy. Then Wednesday night he decided to get a fever too. Took him in to the doc's on Thursday (our favorite doc was on vacation...how dare she...) and it was decided he has the dreaded flu. I took him in to rule out pneumonia. His pulse ox was around 95, so not too bad. With the fever he was very reminiscent of the last bout of pneumonia the day before Liam's baptism (almost 2 years ago) when the urgent care doc wanted to put him in the hospital (his pulse ox was in the upper 80's but improved once the ibuprofen kicked in all the way)but I convinced him (maybe Auntie Stacey helped) to let him come home. I'm not really buying the flu theory though. I think flu spreads fairly quickly and Liam, Owen, and I shared a drink at Sam's Club Tuesday (yes, Owen was coughing then, but just a cough, and I figured it was just Owen's lungs reacting to dust (cleaned the basement) and weather). So far me and Liam, and Matt and Steve for that matter, are still just fine. Hopefully I'm not jinxing myself...So anyway, today he's fine, except for an occasional cough. No fever. Just some weird manifestation of Owen's, I guess. At least it seems he is improving on his own.
Found out Matthew's new make-up schedule for school since it's been cancelled so much because of snow. They are extending the school day by 15 minutes (10 extra in the morning and 5 in the afternoon), taking back a "professional developement" day, and the last week of school is changed to full days now, except for the very last day. I guess I really can't hit snooze anymore. Yuck. But good they aren't adding extra days at the end.
Liam takes such long naps now. Since we moved his bed up to the boys' room, he will sleep for 3-4 hours in the afternoon. I've had to go wake him up between 4 and 4:30. Then he's crabby. Bedtime at night is better than when he first switched upstairs. No nightlights on at all until everyone is asleep. It's actually working much better for Matthew and Owen too. Although maybe it was because Owen has been in our bed for the last 2 nights. He's going back upstairs tonight. I know Steve's ribs are ready for Owen to be back in his own bed.
