Yesterday we finally had the "family" party for Matthew's 7th birthday. It got really crazy earlier this month because of my niece, Emmeline, being born on the 9th, my dad's surgery, and our trip to NJ for Patti and Vinny's wedding. Although it was raining as we went to church at 9am for Matthew's last choir obligation this year, it turned into a great sunny day. We grilled burgers, hot dogs, bratwursts, and some marinated chicken breasts. Now that we have all the leftovers, I don't have to cook for a week (see, there is a method to my madness.) Our boys had fun with Garrett and Katie, and the baby mostly slept until the end. It will be fun to get together more this summer because Josh and Allison add another child towards the end of June.

That cake looks great!!!!! And the hammock looks even better! Still can't believe how big Matthew is............time sure does fly.
Did I give you permission to post my picture all over the internet?? Your kid has been in bed for 45 minutes and it sounds like he's wide awake and having a blast all by himself. Not sure what to do about that, but I have had my fill of Magic School Bus...
