Owen's Ears

Yesterday he had another appointment with ENT to see whether or not there was drainage of the fluid behind his ear drums. Three months ago we were prescribed Flonase to hopefully help it to drain. Let's just say that two colds in the last 5-6 weeks does not help the situation. There was still fluid and it looked like the thick goopy kind that's been there for a while and there was lots of it. Owen's hearing test, however, showed he only has minimal loss, not even near what you would expect based on how his ears look. So it's a waiting game again. Hopefully with spring (but Owen has allergies usually, so I'm guessing that wouldn't help things) and 2 more months of nose spray his ears will drain. Otherwise we're looking at ANOTHER set of tubes just in time for swimming season. Tubes would also increase his chances of needing a patch repair like in September. I'm hoping that even if his ears don't drain his hearing loss would still be minimal and negate the benefits of having yet another surgery.

As far as his 5 year regular pediatrician appointment went a few weeks ago, he's doing great. 39 pounds, 42 inches tall. Had to have 4 vaccinations and he was not happy, expecially when the nurse had to replace a needle and stick him a 5th time. Nothing a Shamrock Shake wouldn't fix though.
