Bisbee Copper Mine

The train tour at Bisbee Copper Mine was very fun for the kids. Again, not for little babies, so Grampy and Nella walked Liam all around the town. The town reminded me a little of New Hope, PA. Antiques, restaurants, art shops. After lunch at a haunted (seriously) hotel, we headed to the mine to gear up. Inside the mine it's 48 degrees. Owen complained it was too cold. He was also annoyed his hard hat wouldn't stay on his tiny head and he couldn't have a "real" miner's light because the battery pack was pretty heavy (it got belted around your waist). Matthew's light kept pulling his shorts down. Our tour guide was a retired miner, so that was pretty neat. Matt was a little afraid when the tour guide demonstrated how they would drill and pack a wall with dynamite. Matthew thought he was really going to blow up the wall. The kids both had a blast. (Ha ha ha)

This seems very cool! My Nicholas would have been mad about the light, too! :)
